Information regarding our approach to vaccinations and other non-emergency procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently you may have been aware that social media and the press have suggested that guidelines regarding services such as vaccinations and neutering for pets are being relaxed. We are concerned that this does not give you full clarity regarding the situation.

During the pandemic we will be available to help and prioritise urgent and emergency care for your pets. We will also find wherever possible solutions to help your pets (including preventative health care) whilst keeping ourselves and our clients safe. To balance this, we are minimising human contact – which is absolutely critical.

You may see some other practices saying that all vaccinations and non-essential/non-emergency services are back to normal; this is a real concern. We feel that during the extended lockdown that we currently should not be offering further services that are not deemed critical.

We will therefore be putting our client’s and our team’s safety first.

We will selectively carry out vaccinations or neutering post risk assessment where we believe there’s a demonstrable clinical need and it is in the animal’s best interest to receive this type of service. Whether treatment is deemed as critically needed at the time would be where enough risk to the pet outweighs the risk posed to human health.

Please respect the decision’s our vet’s are making. They are making the decision with your animal’s interest, but also your public health and their team’s health in mind.

Our teams come to work every day, putting themselves at risk, to ensure that our clients and their pets can access treatments where required.

•   Please be reassured that we are here to help you and your pet during this coronavirus outbreak.

•   Should your animal be unwell or you require advice then please phone our practice.

•   Should a veterinary consultation be required then our vets are on hand for consultation by video or phone and should you require urgent veterinary care then arrangements will be made for your animal to be examined by a vet.

•   Medications are still able to be dispensed where required and our reception staff will advise you on how best to receive these medications.

•   Pet Food can be ordered and is usually ready to collect within 24hrs.

•   Should you phone out of our normal working hours then you will be given advice on how to contact an emergency out of hours vet. This information is also available on the individual practice page.

•   We will not tolerate rude, disrespectful or aggressive behaviour from any of our clients.

We thank you for your support during this difficult time.
